The parachute becomes a seat

A collection of seats and separates based on the approach of reusing disused materials ready to be thrown away. Raeburn, a sustainable fashion brand, and the strategic design studio Layer, have joined forces to create a project that would celebrate the world of industrial design in a sustainable version, with the aim of enhancing and recontextualizing circular materials that are still valid.
The structure of the seat is made up of steel frames produced by Allermuir, a major British furniture manufacturer, while the parts of the parachute are used to give shape to the body of the chair and the separates, exploiting the particular strength of the fabric, are created solutions of padding and upholstery through fixing points.
