Sustainable materials for UEFA EURO24 ball

For lovers of sport, Adidas has launched a new ball called FUSSBALLLIEBE – “love of football” – which will be used at the upcoming UEFA EURO24. It represents an innovative fusion of sport and technology, as it has a motion sensor inside that provides real-time data on the ball’s position. The innovation of this ball is not only based on the technological aspect, but also on the materials it is made.
The core consists of two components a zero-waste bladder containing renewable, natural rubber and the carcass made from a double patched PES fabric giving the bladder its strength and shape. Are also used recycled polyester, water-based ink and other bio-based materials such as corn fibre, sugar cane and wood pulp. The use of these materials does not compromise the performance of the ball and also improves its environmental performance.
