Sustainability in yachts

At the Boat Builder Awards 2018, on November in Amsterdam, the Shipyard PERMARE AMER YACHTS won in the category “Environmental initiative “ for the sustainable superyacht. It has been built to reduce its environmental impact.
Much attention has been paid to the choice of circular materials used, in order to ensure lightness and high performance.
On the deck instead of teak, was chosen the cork by Sace Components. It is a material specifically designed for decking boats that provides superior performance in terms of strength and grip and is at the same time composed of 100% natural cork.
The upholstery was made with fabrics that combine up to 50% of recycled pre-consumer fibres, yarns and textile waste.
