Lotus uses recycled yarn for its interiors

Well-known car manufacturer Lotus has partnered with German company Brain of Materials, producer of the high-quality recycled yarn WYRON truecycled®.
The yarn in question is composed of 50% post-consumer textile waste and 50% recycled polyester, produced using truecycled® technology, developed by Trützschler, which allows for longer and more resistant recycled fibres.
The system covers the entire recycling process, from shredding textile waste to preparing the resulting fibres for spinning, integrating delicate tearing processes and specialised carding machines.
The yarn is used for the rear sections of the seats in the Lotus Emeya and Eletre cars, offering a sustainable alternative to the materials used up to now, without compromising the standards required by the automotive industry.
