Shoes made of recycled chewing gum

Gumdrop Ltd was founded in 2009 to tackle the global problem of chewing gum litter. Gumdrop is the first company in the world to recycle chewing gums and process them into circular materials. New compounds are produced from recycle chewing gums and can be used in the rubber and plastics industry.
By a collaboration with Explicit, a fashion brand based in Amsterdam, was born the first sole of shoes made from recycled chewing gum, taken from the streets of Amsterdam.
In the Netherlands 1.5 million kilos of gum ends up on the street every year. This si the second most common form of road waste after cigarettes.
