Recycling Nike shoes into playground flooring

In Belgrade, Serbia, a playground floor has been created by recycling more than 20,000 Nike sneakers.
The famous sports brand, in collaboration with a London design studio, promoted the initiative which reflects the company’s sustainability strategy by supporting the “Move To Zero” programme.
The local community was involved in the project by setting up special collection points for old shoes destined for landfill, which contributed to the circular material used in the flooring.
