The use of circular materials from organic sources is a trend that is spreading in the world of fashion. This market sector, in fact, is increasingly aware to the use of natural, from renewable sources, obtained by bacterial fermentation, biodegradable or compostable fibres. The demand starts mainly from the desire of consumers, who today are increasingly aware and focused on environmental issues.
One example is this new prototype of a 100% biodegradable shoes.
The upper is made of bacterial cellulose growed on coconut water, waste material from the harvest of coconut used for food, while elements in 100% biodegradable bio-plastic are used for the realization of the sole.
