Hats, belt and other objects from straw

In Cutemu, Cile, there is an ancient tradition that was a significant economic activity of this place: “Trenzados de Cutemu”.
The interweaving of straw is already used since 1740 by farmers to make hats to protect themselves from the sun.
Now, thanks to a financing of the Ministry of Culture and the Arts of Chile and thanks to the collaboration of artisans and designers, the process of interweaving of straw is used again for the creation of belts, hats and other objects.
