Circular materials in Converse shoes

Converse ongoing commitment to make its footwear in more innovative and sustainable ways. It presents on the market 3 new models of shoes in which the iconic upper part is made of circular materials.
Three different version that will be launched on the market from July to the beginning of 2020.
The first model features a recycled polyester upper that came from used plastic bottles.
The second uses an in-house upcycling process, recovering denim jeans that were diverted from landfills.
The last model transforms cotton canvas waste collect from footwear manufacturing process to create a composite 40% recycled cotton with polyester to form a new yarn.
The project optimize waste prevention and seeing waste as a resource within a circular economy based on a materials cycle.
