Development of a customised circularity measurement model for a series of products, for a leading company in the food industry. For the creation of the model, functional KPIs for the products were evaluated, taking into consideration the declination of the measurement to different types of materials. To facilitate the company’s evaluation of the results, the model was implemented by normalising the data according to benchmarks linked to the specificity of the sector. The measurement model was developed by considering the product, packaging and related waste generated during the preparation phase. The end-of-life management takes into account different market scenarios in relation to collection and recovery methods with respect to international markets. The model was subsequently subject to third-party certification based on the technical specifications drawn up by Matrec.
