As Matrec we have successfully completed the verification by Bureau Veritas Italia for the implementation of our CircularTool against ISO 59040:2025 Product Circularity Data Sheet (PCDS).
This new milestone allows us to offer new solutions to our customers: with the measurement of a material or product in addition to the circularity report it is now possible to certify the PCDS circularity performance.
ISO 59040 is part of the ISO 59000 family which aims to harmonize and promote understanding of aspects related to the circular economy.
The importance of this standard lies in its pragmatic approach: it defines the principles for the creation of a “Product Circularity Data Sheet” (PCDS). This is an “identity card” of circularity, which accompanies the product throughout the value chain.
ISO 59040 does not invent new circularity principles, but organizes them in a clear and certifiable measurement framework, putting an end to ambiguity.
For companies, it means being able to communicate their circularity efforts in a credible way, gaining a competitive advantage and facilitating B2B and B2C communication.
