Publication: “Circularity as a Project”

The book “Circularity as Design: Field Experiences with (Future) Architects and Designers Using Waste Materials” explores the circular economy from a critical perspective, as both a design practice and an opportunity to think about sustainability in concrete terms.
Through educational experiences, field experiments, and case studies developed with architecture and design students at the Polytechnic University of Turin, the book features contributions from the worlds of research, business, and the nonprofit sector, demonstrating how waste materials and discarded products can become the subject of design projects.
From theoretical reflection to prototyping, and on to the development of circularity scenarios in real-world contexts, an operational and research methodology emerges for interpreting the relationships between materials, territories, and transformation processes, converting waste and unused resources into new environmental, economic, and social opportunities.
