From 20 June 2025, ecodesign requirements for smartphones, cordless phones and tablets placed on the EU market apply.
Energy labelling requirements apply from the same date for smartphones and tablets.
The regulations focus on measures to extend the life of products and in particular:
- Energy efficiency class scale from A to G.
- Energy efficiency class of the product.
- Battery life per cycle, in hours and minutes for each full charge.
- Reliability class in repeated free fall.
- Battery life in cycles.
- Repairability class.
- Protection degree.
