As Matrec we are proud to have achieved halfway of Cir-Pad project promoted by RE-CENTRE and aimed at researching and developing new circular padding solutions for the furniture industry. A project that we are implementing in collaboration with MondoEspansi. The project aims to arrive at an innovative circular padding solution that will be submitted to a number of furniture companies. In these first months, we have researched and tested new organic, recycled, and certified materials that, appropriately processed, can provide the same resilience as traditional padding. We are making the first prototype characterised by aspects of circularity such as disassemblability, reparability, reusability and recyclability. We measured the circularity of different design proposals with our CircularTool to evaluate the best solution to develop. We are now tackling the more technical and functionality verification part. We are very confident about the final results.
