The textile-to-textile recycling process is a circular economy approach in which textile waste, both pre- and post-consumer, is transformed into new fibres, yarns and fabrics to create new textile products. This strategy aims to develop a closed-loop system.
This method was chosen by the company Satch to make the upper part of its school backpacks.
Satch, which has been focusing on researching and using sustainable and recycled materials for years, has launched a new collection of backpacks whose outer fabric is made from discarded clothing and textile waste, processed through a chemical recycling process.
