LVMH: recovery and valorization of deadstock fabrics

The LVMH group has extended its circular economy strategy, adding among its objectives the recovery and valorization of deadstock fabrics, a highly relevant issue that particularly involves luxury fashion houses.
Through DARE (disrupt, act, risk to be an entrepreneur) an LVMH program that acts as an incubator for new ideas and with the support of LVMH’s Environmental Development division, the first online resale platform has been created that offers a second chance to deadstock high-quality fabrics and leathers that can no longer be used by the group’s fashion houses.
The catalog displays a wide selection of prestigious and certified “deadstock” materials at competitive prices, translating the “Touch & Feel” sourcing experience into a digital version, through high-resolution images and videos aimed at showing the characteristics of the materials in detail.
Consistent with the sustainable soul of the project, the platform is directed to designers and creatives located in Europe, being the surplus fabrics located in France, so as to facilitate local distribution.
