Furnishing elements made from textile waste

From a joint project between the designer Sarah K and the Seljak brand, which produces blankets with recycled textile materials, a furnishing element is born through the valorization of resources discarded from the mattress recycling process.
In the mattress recycling phase it is in fact currently possible to recycle steel and foam resources, while textile waste, being composed of a combination of natural and synthetic materials, is destined to landfill, because it is impossible to separate fibres with different origins.
Through a process of shredding, felting, compression and moulding, without the addition of chemicals, the mix of discarded textile fibres is used to create a sustainable design Floor Lounger.
