The textile sector is undergoing a historic transformation toward the circular economy, and the “Infinitee” certification, promoted by the Circular Textiles Foundation (CTF), is one of the key drivers of this change.
“Infinitee” certifies that a garment has been designed to be recyclable and fully compatible with the recycling technologies already in use at European facilities.
The product can be fed into recovery processes without complex and costly preliminary sorting or disassembly steps, making the recycling of the garment economically viable.
The CTF’s goal is to reduce the environmental impact of fashion by acting upstream—that is, during the design phase—ensuring a second life for every fiber.
Infinitee, already recognized since 2024 by the UK Intellectual Property Office as the country’s official certification mark for recyclable clothing, has recently also received recognition from the European Union Intellectual Property Office.
This represents a significant step toward standardizing the circular economy in the fashion sector, establishing a benchmark for the traceability and sustainability of textile products within the single market.
