We are proud and honoured that Matrec’s CircularTool has been awarded by ICESP as a national best practice in the circular economy in the category of ‘communication of circularity and transparency’.
This recognition rewards the long-standing work we have carried out over the years to implement tools and services supporting businesses in measuring the circularity of materials and products. CircularTool is a tool that many companies in the furniture, fashion, construction, packaging, lighting and household appliances sectors are already using to:
– design, measure and compare different circularity solutions,
– search for new circular and innovative material solutions by accessing Matrec’s materials library,
– meet the requirements of the EU Ecodesign Regulation (ESPR),
– communicate the characteristics of circularity truthfully and transparently
CircularTool includes:
– 42 circularity indicators
– 4 economic indicators
From the ‘concept design’ phase through to engineering, production and communication: CircularTool supports the project every step of the way.
Furthermore, CircularTool is designed to fully meet the requirements of Directive 2024/825, which prohibits generic or unsubstantiated environmental claims and requires that every circularity claim be:
✔ verified
✔ based on scientific data
✔ communicated in a transparent and truthful manner.
We would like to thank ICESP for the excellent work it is doing in coordinating national efforts across various aspects of the circular economy, and all the companies that are helping us to implement and continuously improve the CircularTool.
