Rossignol: eco-design for skiing

Rossignol has designed a new ski by applying the principles of ecodesign. The ski is made of 62% recycled, certified natural and organic materials, decorated through a process that does not use solvents or water.
The company focused its efforts on the central theme of recyclability, with the aim of providing a product that maximises material recovery at the end of its life. The approach has been to reduce the number of materials used, mainly selecting those that are recyclable at the end of their life.
Rossignol is also committed to improving waste separation and, through collaboration with an external partner, to developing a recycling process that aims to select and separate materials that could be reused in the automotive or construction industries and in the future partially reused in new Rossignol Group products.
The company itself has calculated that while a conventional ski is currently only 10% recyclable on average, this new ski has a recyclability rate of over 75%.
