Prada launches a new bags collection made of recycled nylon

Re-Nylon: a new project by Prada introducing a sustainable line of iconic Prada bag silhouettes executed in a unique new regenerated nylon.
The textile yarn is obtained through the recycling and purification process of plastic waste collected from oceans, fishing nets, and textile fibre waste.
The circular material through a process of depolymerization and re-polymerisation, can be recycled indefinitely, with no loss of quality.
The new cyclical supply-chain are upending traditional notions of i ndustrial production for a new generation of sustainability, in accordance with the principles of the circular economy.
The project is documented by a series of short films by National Geographic, taking viewers through a remarkable journey that describes the production process of this regenerated yarn across every continent of the world.
