Michelin 80% sustainable materials by 2048

At Movin’On 2018, event focused on sustainable mobility and organised in Montreal by the French tyre multinational, Michelin is announcing its ambitious plan to ensure that by 2048, all of its tires will be manufactured using 80% sustainable materials and 100% of all tires will be recycled.
Michelin tires are currently made using 28% sustainable materials, 26% natural rubber and 2% recycled steel or recycled powdered tires.
Michelin is investing in high technology recycling technologies and circular materials by research programs like Biobutterfly, to create synthetic elastomers from biomass such as wood, straw or beet.
