Google and iFixit: repairability of electronic products

In order to pave the way for consumers’ right to repair, Google has partnered with iFixit, an online platform that has been supporting users in DIY product repair for years.
Google will provide iFixit with official repair parts for its Pixel line of phones.
This will give end consumers easy access to official spare parts and repair tools, with the aim of extending the life of consumer electronics products and reducing waste.
Google is committed to ensuring that the design of future Pixel models is strongly oriented towards the disassemblability and reparability of the various components, in order to facilitate repair operations, reduce the number of useful tools and above all the materials involved. It also provides its authorised partners with dedicated documentation, training and tools.
