From Nespresso’s aluminium coffee capsule recycling system, the company Miloo has created a circular performance e-bike.
Several components are made of sustainable materials: the frame and wheels are made of recycled aluminium from 1,344 capsules, the handlebar grips from recycled cork, the pedals from recycled wood and the saddle is made of recycled plastic.
The three different colours available reflect the colours of the capsules.
Today Nespresso, a pioneer and market leader in the production of coffee capsules, has a solid recycling system in place through the establishment of numerous collection points at its single-brand shops and commercial partners.
In Switzerland, it has also activated a free ‘Recycling at Home’ service, which allows customers to place used Nespresso capsules in a recycling bag, to be collected free of charge by the courier.
This proven system of recovery and recycling has made it possible to give new life to coffee capsules, transforming alliminium into new products.
