Matrec at Salone del Mobile 2019

Salone del Mobile in Milan is an international exhibition for new proposals from the world of design. Also this year Matrec will be present for meetings and dedicated projects to circular materials.
The proposals for environmentally sustainable products are increasingly and the theme of the circular economy is transversal to the different furniture sectors.
We suggest some projects that we have had the pleasure to follower, where circular materials are the real protagonists.
The first project concerns Abonos ™, the millennial wood from fluvial origin par excellence, which meets the art of “decoration” of Lia Bosch, with the first world collection of “Circular Decoration” from 4 tenths.
An event curated by Davide Rampello and Carlo Tuzzi. Furthermore, from the synergy between Arte 9 Milano and Sace Components, the first Abonos ™ wood fabric is born. Thanks to a process of research, development and creativity that lasted over a year, fabrics with different essences of Abonos ™ will be presented to the public (Arte 9 Milano, via Maiocchi 9, Milan).
The PaperStone of the Sadun company will be the protagonist of Gogan table designed by architect and designer Patricia Urquiola and Green light library designed by the Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson for Moroso. PaperStone is a material with a high environmental value as it is made with recycled paper and FSC certified, with the addition of vegetable resin. PaperStone is characterized by lightness, strength and elegance and responds in the best way to the principles of the circular economy. (Rho-Fiera, Moroso stand).
Solid Textile Board and Acoustic Textile Felt are high-quality engineered materials made from end-of-life cotton and wool sourced from fashion and textile industries, industrial laundries, households and cut offs from Kvadrat. The two materials are the protagonists of the exhibition at Nilufar gallery in via Lancetti, for a project by Patricia Urquiola.

The CEO of Matrec, arch. Marco Capellini, will participate to some meetings to discuss the importance and methods of use of circular materials for furniture and about research and selection aspects for new proposals for sustainable materials.

All updates about Matrec activity during the Milan design week will be posted on Facebook.
