Fabric made of silk and waste of citrus
Innovative fabric made of silk and vegetal fibres obtained from the industrial waste of citrus squeezing process, the so-called “pastazzo,”specifically peel, pulp and seeds of oranges, lemons, tangerines and grapefruits. With the transformation of citrus waste, currently valuing 700.000 tons only in Italy, are made satin fabric and lace, 100% biodegradable and processed with natural dyes. The fabrics are formed from a silk-like cellulose yarn that can blend with other materials as silk and cotton.
