Description: Polyvinyl chloride. Thermoplastic vinyl resin obtained by addition polymerization of vinyl chloride. There are two mainly kinds of PVC: the flexible PVC (PVC-P), soft material obtained by combining the polymer with a liquid plasticizer, and the rigid PVC (PVC-U), a rigid and hard non-plasticised material. The second raw material is mainly obtained from the recycling of processing scraps and production wastes (post-industrial), packaging, containers, rolling shutters, electric cables and other products (post-consumer). The ideal recycling process for PVC foresees: low temperatures, short processing times and presence of stabilizers that simplify the rework operations and prevent the mechanical properties alteration and the polymer processability.
